Considered by many to be the queen of the Arisaema genus and a notorious late riser, usually in June. Be sure to mark the spot. Delicate pink and white striped spathe hoods with a sweet fragrance, if only for a day or two, held above very large, glossy trifoliate leaves. The leaves only unfurling after the bloom. Plant this arisaema where it will get a few hours of sun, as this is a very sun tolerant species. Cultivate in a somewhat dry, rocky soil to mimic its native Chinese haunts. Arisaema Candidissimum multiplies quickly producing many smaller tubers each year. Section Franchetiana. Hardy in zones 5-9. Image courtesy of Dave Maczuga Sold Out
