Absolutely one of our favorite medium sized Jacks. Very much resembling A. sazensoo and confused with A. sikokianum as well, to grow it is to love it. A Chinese species that is really quite easy to grow and a beautiful specimen. Very broad leaves each divided into 5 leaflets form below the purple and white stripped flower, being so dark it can almost appear black. Grows in open stony grassy hillsides under shrubs. So, grow it in a humus rich, very well drained soil. Zone 5-10.
