DIsporum cantoniense (Chinese Fairy Bells) We have grown this for years here at the nursery and now have some to share. In early spring stiff stems arise and branch with narrow leaves ultimately getting to about 3′ and topped with dangling, dark red bell-like flowers. It really is a fantastic plant and honestly unlike most other Disporum we grow. These are imported this year (we are in the process of also propagating our own), so we hope it is the same clone we grow and have pictured. There are a few different forms of cantoniense out there and some have purple flowers, and some have white or yellow. We will update this section if they are vastly different than the one we grow.
