Starting to bloom for us in Indiana near the end of February and continuing into March, we could not imagine the garden without the Lenten Rose. Part of Walters Gardens ‘Wedding Party’ series from hybridizer extraordinaire Hans Hansen, comes this double flowering hellebore with double white flowers with burgundy speckling concentrated toward the center of the petals. Hans has selected these for vigor, the large number of blooms and rich colors. A mature clump is certainly going to be quite a site. Moist woodland soil in part part sun/shade. Zone 4-8, 12″ x 24″ wide. Flower height 18″. Most of these will bloom next year, a few this year. Hellebores are deep rooted so amend the soil as deep as possible.
