These are 3 year old cuttings. ‘Kurenai’, (Cardinal) is a wonderful lacecap Mountain hydrangea that will be about 3′ high and wide over time. There are serrated edges on the light green leaves and the newly emerging leaves have a red cast to them. Flowers are a lacecap style with sterile florets that start white and slowly flush through pink to deep pinkish-red bordering on true red. Soil ph can greatly affect the color of the blooms. Mountain hydrangeas are easily pruned to the desired shape, but by nature are small shrubs. Zones 5-9
