Jeffersonia dubia

Asian (actually Korea) counterpart of our native Jeffersonia, or twinleaf. A plant of remarkable beauty in all phases of growth. Red early on emergence, leaves retaining a bit of a red edge as they age, and incredible lavender flowers. Best in a rock garden type setting and soil. Think gritty, almost gravel free draining soil. Site where it can receive some morning sun or high filtered light. An essential plant for the rock or woodland garden. It doesn’t get much better than these. Zones 4-8
