Paris verticillata

SOLD OUT
If you like Trillium, come take a look at Paris. They really are a remarkable group of plants and still unknown by most of the gardening world. But oh so garden worthy and not that fussy. Paris verticillata arises from a slender creeping rhizome to at about 12″ in height, topped by 5-8 undulating leaves, and above the leaves a flower. If not familiar with Paris flowers, lets just say they are one of a kind, green sepals, yellow anthers, purple ovary… hows that. Seed is born in a simple blue/black berry. Blooms early to late spring, needs humusy moisture retentive soil with good drainage. Not tolerant of drought or moving in the summer. Prefers dappled shade. Can create quite sizable colonies over time. Zone 5
