(Chinese mayapple) Remarkable mayapple with hexagonal 18″ umbrella like leaves of shiny green on stems to over 2′ that stay beautiful until frost. The edges of the leaves are covered with little teeth adding to the drama. Dark smoke magenta flowers are underneath the leaves and turn into beautiful yellowish green seed pods. Cultivate these in rich, humusy woodland soil with abundant moisture in the summer months. When established they can run, much like our native mayapple. Choice and very desirable. Zone 5 4″ pot
