Rodgersia podophylla Crow Leaf

Crow Leaf Rogers Flower Large finger leafed Rodgersia, with 5-7 leaflets with deep jagged lobes at the tip, coarsely toothed at the margin. In the spring the leaves are glossy reddish bronze lasting thru to mid-late summer. The ‘Crow Leaf’ form later turns brown and eventually a rich green, and then again tremendous fall coloring. Flower buds are red giving way to Astilbe like whiteish pink flowers. Flowering stalks can be 24″ to 36″ Very good plant for Hosta gardens as it adds a whole new texture. Excellent to plant with large Astilbe, Ligularia, Astilboides, Actea, Syneillesis, larger ferns, etc. Prefers evenly moist soils, but not water logged. Deep rich humus soil will generate largest plants. Not invasive. Will tolerate a bit more sun if well watered. Zone 4. Note: additional picture below
