Syneilesis palmata

We’re becoming quite fond of this shredded umbrella plant, as it is commonly called. This form has a bit broader leaves and a softer color. It also has flowers that although nothing to write home about are probably the best in the genus. A woodland composite from Northeast Asia, in the spring the plant emerges as a tight ‘Cousin It’ with silky silvery umbrellas, a delight to see and touch. Upon leafing it out it will expand to about 1′ tall and in summer it will have fuzzy white flowers bloom on tall stalks to 3′. Each plant makes runners and colonizes, creating quite a grove over time. If you want to get fertile seed you need to grow more than one species, we believe they are self infertile. Zone 4-8
