A rare species of Trillium that occurs in Japan, with what appears to be missing petals. The name even refers to this fact (a=none, petalon= petals). Instead of petals, the sepals have become colorful (mostly red, purple or sometimes green and red) and are the show, albeit small. Easily grown in moist woodland soil like most Trillium. Very different and entirely unique. It may be an oddity but it is a trillium and so we will carry it along with others. We love trillium and think all of them are garden worthy even if they have small reddish-purple flowers. 12″ height. Zone 5
